How Can chronic Vomiting In A 4 Year Old Baby Be Treated?

My 4 1/2 year old daughter has been vomiting since about 230 this morning. She has had fluids and a little soft food. She vomited after eating what would have been dinner (noodle soup, Campbell s). She feels better after vomiting. Mostly the vomit is clear or has whatever she ate. I fed her banana earlier and that did not get thrown up. I fed her crackers and those seemed to digest as well. She s probably vomited 7 times today altogether. Her temperature has been no higher than 99 and change. She s started drinking Pedialite and she slept 4 hours today. I have given her Tylenol but her temp is 99 now and she isn t on Tylenol.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Vomiting in a child usually is self-healing in 1-2 days, assuming it is a gastroenteritis caused by rota or norovirus or bacteria. Nausea can be treated with Vomex capsules to give her some relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ralf Von Seckendorff,
